CCSE 2022 Synodal Consultations

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has invited CCSE to participate in the synodal process by holding consultations on Catholic inclusive education with national networks, our staff, volunteers, and clients, and submitting a report to the USCCB.

** Please take a moment to complete our 2 minute survey, to help us gather voices to guide the Church on Catholic special education. Your responses will help guide us as we prepare for the Listening Sessions.  Thank you!

When: Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Catholic University of America, Pangborn Hall, the Scullen Room

This is a hybrid event - you may attend in person or remotely via Zoom.  Additional details and the link will be emailed to you upon registration.

Pope Francis has invited every Catholic to participate in For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission. The invitation bars no one from sharing their voice.

This is “both a gift and a task: by journeying together and reflecting together on the journey that has been made, the Church will be able to learn through Her experience which processes can help Her to live communion, to achieve participation, to open herself to mission” (Preparatory Document 1).  Our work together is irreplaceable to the life and spirit of the Church; please consider sharing your wisdom, experience, and concerns.

The objective of the current Synod is to listen, as the entire People of God, to what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church.  The purpose of the Synod is not to produce more documents, it is intended to inspire people to dream about the Church we are called to be, to make people’s hopes flourish, to stimulate trust, to bind up wounds, to weave new and deeper relationships, to learn from one another, to build bridges, to enlighten minds, warm hearts, and restore strength to our hands for our common mission (PD, 32).

We invite you and your community to participate.  Please share this invitation widely within your networks so that together we can demonstrate the extensive demand for inclusive Catholic programs across the country.

CCSE extends its deepest gratitude to Paul Radich, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Marketing and Social Thought at the Busch School of Business, Catholic University of America for graciously facilitating our Listening Session along with his team.
